We’re 18 Years Old Today!

Our agency can trace it’s roots back to the 1950s, founded by Robert Morrow. It has undergone several ownership and location changes over the years.

On 4-1-97, John Rushe joined Don Werle as a partner and principal – forming the Werle & Rushe Agency at Don’s French Street office. Moving plans were finalized once things were “official” and we relocated to Bernwood Center on W 12th Street in Millcreek Township. In 2006, we rescued a nearby abandoned home, transforming it into our current location at 4055 W Lake Road.

While some things have changed, others have not. We have steadfastly offered Erie Insurance as our featured carrier. We offer special thanks to the employees of the Erie. They are truly “Above All In SERvIcE”. We are also thankful for the special needs that are served by our other carriers, especially Millville Mutual and Progressive.

Over the years, we have grown into the tag-line at our website – “24/7 Website Convenience PLUS Local Personal Service”. Technology makes part of that possible. But we owe special thanks to our staff – Licensed Agent Kathy Wager, Licensed Customer Service Representative Terry Johnson, and Insurance Service Assistant Joyce Tice.

Finally, “Thank You” to our loyal policyholders. We truly appreciate your business and your trust. It is our privilege to serve your insurance needs.

Kathy Wager and John Rushe represented our agency. Erie Insurance provided the display booth.  There were lots of ideas to remodel, renovate and safeguard homes and property.

And a lucky winner was able to jump-start their plans by winning our agency’s drawing for a $50 Home Depot gift card!

Erie Insurance participated in the Erie Auto Show, held at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center. The Werle & Rushe Agency staffed their booth on Thursday evening, 1-29-15. Agency Principal John Rushe and Licensed Agent Kathy Wager shared the staffing duties.

It was a blustery Erie evening. But for those who attended, they did nto fight large crowds to see new models as well as a special display of classics and antiques.

The challenging weather also improved their chances for the various give-aways. We had one lucky winner of our 3- Car Wash Gift Certificate from Delta Sonic Car Wash.

Agency Principal John Rushe is a volunteer with Erie Together, a countywide initiative to reduce poverty in Erie County.  He joined Project Facilitator Mary Bula and Assistant Project Facilitator Nicole Wethli in a community presentation.  More details about this initiative are available at their website – Erie Together | Learn, Work, Thrive. – Erie Together.

John serves on the Community Engagement Committee.  Their objective is to take the Erie Together “story” out to small groups such as PTAs, church councils, service clubs and more.  Today’s audience was WIC – Women, Infants, Children of Erie County.  Roughly 30 managers and staff from throughout Erie County gathered to hear the details and ask questions about the following initiatives:

LEARN

  • Early childhood readiness & success
  • Aligning education to careers

WORK

  • Balancing workforce & economic development

THRIVE

  • Individual & family stability

The attendees were eager to get details on Erie Together.  And they provided insight on nutrition and immunization as possible barriers to Kindergarten readiness.  The event demonstrated the potential of diverse individuals contributing their skills and insight toward the fight against poverty in our area.

John Rushe spent the afternoon of Saturday, July 19th at the St. Martin Center in Erie. They offer many services to the needy in our area. And they try to help people help themselves to become more self-sufficient and successful.
Twice each year, they hold a seminar for aspiring first-time home buyers. The panelists typically include bankers, home inspectors, closing attorneys, home inspectors and others. John participates as the insurance expert, helping the attendees become better insurance consumers.
Eleven participants attended the July meeting. With the help of John and the other professionals donating their time and expertise, they are better prepared for home ownership.http://www.stmartincenter.org/
