DISCLOSING DRIVERS

It is important to disclose all drivers-First Named Insured as listed on policy; others in the household – Spouse, Relatives such as children,Domestic Partner, and Unrelated Residents. Also, Regular Drivers Living Elsewhere must be disclosed.

The First Party Benefits include

All relatives residing with you are covered under your personal auto policy unless they have their own individual policies.

IF YOU INJURE SOMEONE OR DAMAGE OTHERS’ PROPERTY

Liability protection provides legal defense and a settlement to

  • those you may injure, or
  • for property you may damage.

These limits can become outdated.

You can have additional coverage with a stand-alone Excess Liability Policy.

 IF YOU ARE INJURED BY AN IMPROPERLY INSURED DRIVER

The occupants of your car can be protected from injuries by Uninsured Motorists (no insurance at all) or Underinsured Motorists (legally insured, but with insufficient coverage). You can

  • reject this optional coverage,
  • lower the limit (matches the Bodily Injury Liability limit)
  • reject stacking (multiplies the coverage times the vehicles on the policy).

TORT OPTION

PA drivers are offered two choices for not-at-fault injuries.

  • Limited Tort allows recovery for all medical and out-of-pocket expenses; but pain and suffering only if it meets the definition of “serious injury”.
  • Full Tort does not require the “serious injury” definition.

DAMAGE TO YOUR CAR

Deductibles apply.  Choosing higher deductibles lowers your premium.

  • Collision (roadway accident, hit-and-run)
  • Comprehensive (fire, theft, vandalism, glass damage, flood, hitting a deer, & more)

OPTIONS

Road Service provides reimbursement of reasonable emergency expenses such as towing.

Transportation Expense, also known as Rental Car Reimbursement.
