DISCLOSING OF OPERATORS

It is important to disclose all operators- First Named Insured as listed on policy; others in the household – SpouseRelatives such as children, Domestic Partner, and Unrelated Residents. Also, Regular Operators Living Elsewhere must be disclosed.

IF YOU INJURE SOMEONE OR DAMAGE OTHERS’ PROPERTY

Liability protection provides legal defense and a settlement to

  • those you may injure, or
  • for property you may damage.

This includes

  • Water Sports such as skiing, knee-boarding, wake-boarding and tubing.
  • Fuel Spill liability up to the policy limit.

These limits can become outdated.

You can have additional coverage with a stand-alone Excess Liability Policy.

Erie Home Protector and Erie Secure home policies can extend liability to some boats at no extra charge

  • Under 26 feet in length
  • Under 76 horsepower, if motorized

Coverage may also be purchased for larger, more powerful boats. Additional premium will be charged for this extension.

PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO YOUR BOAT

Limited Protection, intended for storage (NOT WATERWAY ACCIDENTS) is provided on Erie Home, Mobile Home,

Tenant & Condo policies.

Personal Watercraft (Jet Skis, Wave Runners) & Traditional Watercraft (Inboard, Outboard, Inboard/Outboard Sailing) may be eligible for Liability & Physical Damage package protection on an Erie Boat Protector policy. This single policy can provide protection for you, your boat, motor(s) and trailer and more.

Named Perils Coverage includes Fire, Lightening, Windstorm, Theft, Vandalism, Malicious Mischief, Waterborne Collision, Transportation Collision, and Loss of Entire Motor Overboard.

Comprehensive Perils Coverage includes all direct physical damage except those perils specifically excluded.

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS

On-Water Emergency Assistance Payments up to $250 per occurrence for emergency towing to the nearest marina. Additional coverage amounts available.

Personal Effects Coverage $500 included in your policy. Additional coverage available up to $2,500 for the insured’s clothing, fishing and diving equipment (except water ski’s and tow ropes), other sporting equipment, portable televisions & radios, cameras while in or upon the boat.

Uninsured Boaters (no insurance at all) may injure the occupants of your boat. Optional protection is available.

Newly-Acquired Property– Boats, Outboard Motors and Boat Trailers are automatically protected for 90 days.

Non-owned Property– Provides up to $1,000 (ACV) for non-owned property or non-owned Boat Equipment and accessories in the care or control of the Insured

Spars & Sails Racing Extension Extends physical damage protection to include sails, spars & rigging while engaged in pre-arranged racing.
